As the weather has warmed, we find ourselves gathering outside on the porch throughout the day. The little ones show off their gymnastics moves. Gridley, the dog, moves back and forth between the shade of the trees and the feet of those sitting on the porch. There are buckets of "soup" comprised of mud and various plants. A brother shows off the little creature he found in the grass. I grab a book (these days, it's either Alexander Hamilton or Far Far Away) and a fingering weight knitting project and sit on the porch for the afternoon, stretching my toes out to rest in the sun while the rest of me stays in the shade.
Winter, I loved you, but spring has stolen my heart and I couldn't be happier.
