This week, I started and finished Me Before You by Jojo Moyes. I cannot remember the last time a book moved me so much. I laughed one page and sobbed my heart out the next. My family all thought I was going a little crazy. It's been hard to pick up another book (I am sure my fellow readers will understand this feeling). Moyes wrote characters who were at once frustrating and lovable, just like the people we know and love. She took what some people may have thought would be a cliche beginning and turned it upside down. When I finished the last page, I felt hopeful, sad, and bittersweet all at once. I am eager to read the sequel, but I don't know if I can handle it right away.
To console myself, I cast on Mandarine's Pinecone and Mulberry hat using handspun from Goodstitch Fibers (you can read an interview I did with the owner, Abby, here). This is my first time knitting one of Mandarine's gorgeous patterns, but it certainly will not be the last.
Linking up with Ginny.
